The Farm Stand at the Easton Urban Farm is now open and featuring green, tomatoes and various root crops. The Farm Stand is open on Saturdays from 1 to 4 pm with prices comparable or below market prices for produce grown organically and picked that very day. You can even call ahead and the produce will be ready when you pick up. SNAP users can now get produce at half price up to $10.00 each week as a part of the Double SNAP program of Buy Fresh Buy Local.
Congratulations to the Easton Area Neighborhood Center for being picked to be on the Open Gate Farm bus tour. We'll be Stop #4 on the very first year of the bus tour for the Open Gate Farm Tour! St.Luke’s Community and Preventative Medicine department will be offering a free class, “A Matter of Balance” on Fridays from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, to teach about preventing falls, fall-proofing your home and giving some tips on changing your attitude from fear of falling to awareness of your movements. The 8 week class starts on September 22nd in the Community Room at 902 Philadelphia Road. The class is open to anyone who is worried about falling regardless of age. Are you registered to vote? Voting gives you a voice in how we are governed locally, state-wide and nationally. We will be registering voters in the Community Room on October 6th. Make your voice heard by voting on November 7th!
EANC Wish List
EANC is in need of donations of new and gently used items to help keep programs running smoothly. To donate items from the Wish List, simply gather the items and deliver them to EANC at 902 Philadelphia Rd in Easton during normal business hours. Please specify that these are Wish List donations. Proposed Programming for Easton's Youth
EANC is working now to collect information on services and programs that Easton's youth would enjoy. EANC plans to offer activites, groups, and events for city youth in the near future. Do you have an idea for Youth Programming? Click here to email us your idea!
We are currently looking for volunteers to join our committees. Committees are where things happen at EANC and you can be a part of what we are doing and where we are going. We currently have opening son the following Committees:
Finance Committee - The Finance Committee shall oversee the fiscal affairs of the Corporation and recommend investment policies. The Finance Committee shall have the authority to engage the services of professional advisors, subject to the approval of the Board. Decisions by the Finance Committee shall be made by a vote of the majority of the members of the committee, present and voting. The Treasurer of the Board shall be a member of the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee shall name one of its members chair, and shall meet upon the request of any member of the committee. We are especially in need of a CPA on this committee.
Revenue Development and Fundraising Committee The Revenue Development and Fund Raising Committee shall be responsible for working with the staff to create a series of annual goals for each source of contributed income and for establishing time frames for the raising of funds from each source of income category. Sub committees are in place for each fundraiser. The current working sub committees are the Nite at the Races Committee and the Community Room/50th Anniversary Committee. The RD&F committee needs planners and people with contact. The subcommittees need party planners as well as people with event contacts.
Marketing Committee (Ad Hoc) - The Marketing Committee is responsible for developing strategies on how to communicate EANC’s mission and programs to potential donors and clients.
People with speaking experience or marketing experience are welcome.
